“We’ve got a lot on our plate,” President Barack Obama told 60 Minutes in March.
Isn’t that the truth.
The White House is scrambling wildly to try to stimulate a mortally sick economy back to health by putting it deeper into debt. Its ad hoc efforts have driven many even faithful supporters of the new president to doubt his ability to turn the situation around. They have much cause for alarm.
But almost overlooked amid the destruction that the government’s plans are wreaking on the American dollar and the national economy are the dangers encroaching from outside the country. Realizing that America is profoundly weakened by domestic economic problems, opportunistic predators are seizing the chance to lash out at the world’s most prosperous and powerful country.
This is history in the making. Not the good kind of history. More like Nero-fiddling-while-Rome-burned history.
The kind of history we are seeing now is an empire in terminal and rapid decline. Besieged by problems within, facing enemies without, the greatest single nation in history is disintegrating like Rome and dozens of other empires before it.

Landslide poll shows American opinion on first lady as future president

"Mark my words, Michelle Obama will run for president in 2020 or 2024."
So says William J. O'Reilly, an iReporter featured on the CNN website.
The news website also launched a poll on its homepage, asking, "Should Michelle Obama run for president in 2020?"
At press time for this article, with 200,000 votes tallied in the unscientific poll, 83 percent of respondents answered no, with a ratio of over 165,000 against the idea to only 35,000 in favor.
O'Reilly draws a parallel in his video editorial between the Obamas and the "Camelot" years of John and Jackie Kennedy, but points out that Michelle is no Jackie.
"While Michelle Obama is received as not only a fashion icon and also presidential arm candy – as was Jackie Kennedy – there is a difference," opines O'Reilly. "Michelle Obama, with her bearing, with her intelligence, with her degrees from Princeton and from Harvard Law School – added to that, Hillary Clinton's precedent in seeking and gaining political office – mark my words, Michelle Obama will run for president."

President's mail worker claims letter campaign 1 of largest in 35 years

The White House mail office has confirmed it received a "deluge" of as many as 2.25 million red envelopes symbolizing the empty promise of lives snuffed out in abortion in a massive campaign that was larger than most White House mailing movements in the last 35 years.
White House mail worker "Steve" has handled letters for 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for more than three decades. Every single package and letter destined for the White House goes through his office.
Asked if he has seen a flood of red envelopes bound for the White House, Steve chuckled.
"Uh, yes," he said emphatically. "Believe me, they made it here."
Steve said while Obama has been occupied in Europe, his administration has noticed millions of red envelopes on behalf of aborted children.
"Quite frankly, there was definitely a deluge of mail coming through," he laughed. "I had to handle them all."
"I've been here 35 years, so I've seen presidents come and go," Steve told WND. "This campaign ranks up there with the big ones."
The Red Envelope Project is an idea sparked in the mind and prayers of a Massachusetts man, Christ Otto, who envisioned in January thousands of red envelopes sent to the White House, a visual expression of moral outrage over the president's position on abortion.

A chilly encounter
President Barack Obama's declaration in the Turkish parliament Monday, April 6, that the US is not at war with Islam provided cold comfort in Riyadh and Cairo, where his drastic policy shift of détente with Tehran, first revealed by DEBKA-Net-Weekly last month, is causing jitters.
The Financial Times' prediction that the US "may cede to Iran's nuclear ambition" only added to the unease in the Middle East at large.
On the sidelines of the G20 summit in London, Saudi King Abdullah made his views known in a face-to-face interview with the US president on April 2. The White House communiqué reported blandly: Obama and Abdullah discussed international cooperation regarding the global economy, regional political and security issues, and cooperation against terrorism.
Iran was not mentioned. However, according to DEBKAfile's Middle East sources, Abdullah took the US president sternly to task over his emerging policy on Iran, Syria and Iraq, accusing him to giving the Islamic Republic free rein for its nuclear, expansionist and terrorism-sponsoring Middle East policies.
Both parties tried to keep their abrasive encounter away from the public eye and their media, although the photo attached betrays its chilly atmosphere.
The Financial Times was the first Western mainstream publication to pick up on the new pro-Iran policy trend dominating Obama's Washington: "US officials are considering whether to accept Iran's pursuit of uranium enrichment… discussing whether the US will eventually have to accept Iran's insistence on carrying out the process."
The newspaper quoted Trita Parsi, president of the National Iranian American Council as warning: "The US may still have zero as its opening position [in its dialogue with Iran], while recognizing it may not be where things stand at the end of a potential agreement."
DEBKAfile's military sources fear that Tehran has been given a free run to perfect its ability to make bombs and warheads in the shortest possible time from the moment of decision.
Our sources report that the US president's two-day stay in Ankara and his words of peace towards the Muslim world were seen in Riyadh and Cairo as ignoring the most pressing concerns of the leading Muslim Arab powers of the region.
Israeli leaders have been less reticent about their concerns. President Shimon Peres pointed out to visiting US congressmen in Jerusalem Monday that Iran has hoodwinked the entire world in its drive for a nuclear bomb whose main target would be the Jewish state; Israel's population is short of adequate means of self-defense. Deputy Chief of Staff, Maj. Gen. Dan Harel warned that a nuclear-armed Iran would shield Middle East terror groups, so magnifying the threat to Israel manifold. But, he added, the IDF was fully capable of backing up any government decision to tackle this existential threat.
Prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu diplomatically praised President Obama for his renewed commitment to Israeli security, omitting mention of Iran in the same way as he ignored the US president's demand for a Palestinian state to rise alongside Israel in his speech to parliament in Ankara. Netanyahu commented that his new government is in the process of formulating its policies. This left him an opening to dispute administration polices when he arrives in Washington on May 3.

NEW YORK – President Obama's appointment of Sen. Hillary Clinton – a perceived friend of Israel – to be secretary of state was a tactic to force a settlement with the Palestinians on the Jewish state, according to an assessment by one of the founders of the Weathermen terrorist organization
The former Weathermen leader, Mark Rudd, worked closely for years with Weathermen terrorist William Ayers, whose association with Obama has generated controversy for the president. Rudd still works with Ayers in a far-leftist organization, the Movement for a Democratic Society, which includes many former Weathermen members and communist and socialist activists.
As WND previously reported, Rudd also was a signatory to Progressives for Obama, a group of far-leftist activists, including former Weathermen members, who engaged in activism to help elect Obama.
In a recent interview with the Next Left Notes website, Rudd assesses Obama's first weeks in office. The Notes website is associated with the Movement for a Democratic Society, according to communist expert Trevor Loudon of the New Zeal blog.
Rudd stated Obama's appointment of Clinton was "strategic" to force Israel into accepting a deal with the Palestinians:
"(Some other appointments are) terrible at the top level, except maybe Hillary Clinton, whom I'm expecting to win a Nobel prize for forcing the Israelis to accept a settlement. Who but the nation's No. 1 shiksa (non-Jew), a certified lover of Israel, would the right wing accept to force the settlement? That was a strategic appointment."
The Obama administration supports Israeli-Palestinian talks aimed at creating a Palestinian state in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and eastern Jerusalem.

Predictably today, Barack Obama is whining to the "international community" about North Korea's latest missile test, which can interpreted one of only two ways.
Either North Korea is attempting to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles to attack its enemies (including the U.S.) with nuclear warheads, or it plans to extort from the West economic aid for its hapless communist system.
Instead of complaining, Obama should be reversing his plans to slow or halt the development of anti-missile defense systems – both ground-based and space-based – and, next time North Korea fires a long-range missile into the sky, it should be shot down.
End of story. End of crisis.
Instead, what is Obama doing?
As usual, he is doing the unthinkable.
He is actually advocating the elimination of all nuclear weapons.
It's not surprising.
We all know Obama thinks weapons of all kinds, not the maniacs who use them without justification, are the real enemy of mankind.
Just as he seeks to eliminate nuclear weapons from the world, an unachievable and unrealistic goal for the foreseeable future, he also seeks to further restrict the sale and possession of firearms in his own country – despite America's proud tradition of protecting the unalienable right to self-defense in the Constitution.
In addition, Obama is actually putting the scrapping of missile defense on the table for negotiation, if only, by some miracle, Iran pledges to abandon its nuclear program, and refusing to allow new research into better and more reliable systems for the future against future enemies – such as North Korea and a world full of nuclear-armed terrorists.
It is as if Obama has a death wish for the United States. It is as if he is literally inviting a nuclear attack on his country in the future.
"As the only nuclear power to have used a nuclear weapon, the United States has a moral responsibility to act," Obama told a crowd yesterday in Prague. "We cannot succeed in this endeavor alone, but we can lead it."
That, my friends, is feigning weakness – not something you want to do in the face of North Korea's bellicose action this weekend.
Once again, Obama is pushing all the wrong buttons on national security matters – just like he does with the economy.
