Legislator blasts lack of transparency, 'erosion of our national sovereignty'

Howard Phillips |
With President Obama expected tomorrow for the North American Leaders' Summit in Guadalajara, Mexico, a coalition of American legislators and activists took a message to the Mexican media, denouncing economic partnerships that would undermine national sovereignty and blasting Obama's failure to keep his promises on transparency and the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Howard Phillips, chairman of The Conservative Caucus and head of the Coalition to Block the North American Union, spoke to Mexican print, television and radio media about the summit, which was known in previous years as the North American Security and Prosperity Partnership, or SPP.
Discover how the SPP has been laying the groundwork for the unthinkable in Jerome Corsi's "The Late Great USA" – autographed! Or, if you prefer, in paperback – autographed!
"They're talking more and more about economic integration, which is also what preceded the creation of the European Union, incrementally," Phllips told WND. "We made the point that one of the real issues is accountability. Already there are more than 20 SPP working groups and more and more decisions are being turned over to unelected bureaucrats, without any review by the legislatures of Mexico, Canada or the U.S."
Phillips also released statements from current U.S. Rep. Walter Jones Jr., R-N.C., and former congressmen Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., and Virgil H. Goode Jr, R-Va., warning Obama that this meeting
of the American, Mexican and Canadian heads of state is no time to renew talks of a North American Union."My eastern North Carolina constituents are troubled by our exploding trade deficit, our weakly defended borders and the erosion of our national sovereignty," Rep. Jones said in a statement prepared for the press conference. "As a result, many of them have expressed their concerns about our nation's leadership role in the SPP."
"Many SPP working group meetings are held in secret, and the public, the press and members of Congress have no opportunity to participate or conduct oversight," Jones said. "The SPP also appears to cast aside America's sovereignty and takes another step towards combining the United States, Mexico and Canada into a single EU-style North American super state."
He concluded, "While the American people and Congress understand the importance of promoting good relations with our neighbors, these concerns will only intensify if pursuit of the SPP continues out of public view and without congressional oversight or approval."
Campaign recruiting for workers at 'civilian resettlement facility'

An ad campaign featured on a U.S. Army website seeking those who would be interested in being an "Internment/Resettlement" specialist is raising alarms across the country, generating concerns that there is some truth in those theories about domestic detention camps, a roundup of dissidents and a crackdown on "threatening" conservatives.
The ads, at the GoArmy.com website as well as others including Monster.com, cite the need for:
"Internment/Resettlement (I/R) Specialists in the Army are primarily responsible for day-to-day operations in a military confinement/correctional facility or detention/internment facility. I/R Specialists provide rehabilitative, health, welfare, and security to U.S. military prisoners within a confinement or correctional facility; conduct inspections; prepare written reports; and coordinate activities of prisoners/internees and staff personnel.
The campaign follows by only weeks a report from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security warning about "right-wing extremists" who could pose a danger to the country – including those who support third-party political candidates, oppose abortion and would prefer to have the U.S. immigration laws already on the books enforced.

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
August 8, 2009, 9:53 PM (GMT+02:00)
A large Lebanese army force which raided the Lebanese Internet network center on Mt. Barukh east of the Lebanese town of Jezzine Saturday, Aug. 8 was dismayed to discover the exchange center which carries all of Lebanon's Internet links using equipment made in Israel. An intelligence sweep found the servers were routed to an exchange center in Haifa.
The soldiers impounded piles of equipment and rounded up several detainees at the mountain center and several Lebanese Internet companies.
Upon learning of the discovery, Hizballah demanded an immediate and thorough investigation of how all of Israeli intelligence acquired free access to all Lebanese internet communications like an open book.
In recent months, Lebanon has seen one suspected Israeli spy network after another exposed across the country. Wednesday, Aug. 5, DEBKAfile first disclosed that the spy rings were not busted by Lebanese intelligence but by agents of the Russian Federal Security Service - FSB working undercover in Lebanon since early this year at the invitation of the Lebanese Shiite Hizballlah.

Russian agents may also have led the Lebanese army to their discovery of the Israeli data center on Mt. Barukh.
Erev Rav |
"The entire 974 generations (Hagiga 14.) which are `Erev Rav which are the souls from the world of chaos, G-d transplants them every generation, and they are the bold-faced of the generation. Our Sages said that in the period of "messiah's footsteps" impudence will become great... and the `erev rav will return to be the shepherds of Israel" - Safra ditz'ni`utha, chapter 1, beginning with the words "They were not watching" (3).
"You should know that there are five kinds of `erev rav. The first kind are argumentative and libelous people; the second kind are those who pursue passion and fornication; the third kind are those who are deceitful, who pretend to be righteous but whose hearts are not whole. The fourth kind are those who pursue honor in order to make a name for themselves; the fifth kind are those who pursue money... and the argumentative kind are the equivalent of all of them: they are called `Amalekim, and the son of Dovid will not come until they have passed out of this world, for it is of them that we recite timche et zekher `Amalek - "You shall erase the memory of Amalek" - Adderet Eliyahu, commentary on Deut. 1:1 (325), his words being based on Zohar 1:25, 27; 3:125: and see the Gaon's commentary on Tikkunei Zohar 97, pp. 86,91.

THE TOWER OF BABEL
AND
THE CONFUSION OF LANGUAGES
by Lambert Dolphin
The building of the Tower of Babel and the Confusion of Tongues (languages) in ancient Babylon is mentioned rather briefly in Genesis Chapters 10 and 11. Genesis 10 is the so-called "Table of Nations"--a list of 70 names of Noah's descendants through Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The list is probably not complete, but we are given a good picture of the division of our race into three branches each having been gifted special giftedness and unique qualities by God, highlighting the spiritual, intellectual and physical sides of man as he was created in the image of God. Genesis 10:6-12 includes a parenthetical section on one of the sons of grandsons Ham, Nimrod the son of Cush.
"The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan. The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. Cush became the father of Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, 'Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.' The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar. From that land he went into Assyria, and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-ir, Calah, and Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city...(Genesis 10:6-12)

Protests, arrests, shouts, tempers … is there a doctor in the house?

Overflow crowd of hundreds lined up to enter already locked doors of Missouri town hall on health care reform |
At town halls around the country, many flooded by more protesters than event organizers anticipated, lawmakers returning from Washington are finding constituents don't want to listen; they want to be heard.
"Why won't you let the people speak?" shouted one protester in Tampa, Fla., at a public forum where Rep. Cathy Castor, D-Fla., attempted to pitch Obama's health care reform plan to her constituency.
The Tampa protest made national headlines afterward, as dozens of protesters were pushed out the door in a scuffle, some claiming to have received injuries, and the doors were locked to bar their chanting protest: "You work for us!"
But even inside the locked doors, many in the crowd didn't want to listen to their legislator's reasons for advocating a federal health care plan.
When Castor tried to tell the crowd that those who currently pay for their own health insurance, either privately or through their employer, would benefit the most from legislation being considered in Washington, she was drowned out by disbelieving citizens.
"Bull----!" shouted protesters inside the room. "No we're not!"
Video of the eruption can be seen below, though the clip does contain flagrant and repeated profanity:
Rep. Steve Kagen, D-Wis., got a raucous earful as well, when hundreds of people inside and outside the Green Bay town hall demanded their representative read thoroughly the health care reform bill, which many people believe is being pushed too quickly through Congress.
On the Fox News Channel, a Wisconsin man who attended the town hall meeting explained he wanted to express the message, "We don't feel that Washington is listening to us."
He told host Bill Hemmer, "The way the Congress has been acting in general lately is in my mind totally unconstitutional. They want to take one of the most important issues in my life, which is health care, they want to say that they are going to reform it but they haven't even read the bill."
"I will continue to exercise my First Amendment rights until this government exhibits some form of willingness to communicate with the people," the guest explained.

Revolt is brewing among AARP members against AARP leadership
By: Mark Tapscott

Last week I wrote in this space that Obamacare could be the death of AARP because it would expose to the rank-and-file of the 40 million member seniors group - most of whom oppose Obamacare - how their Washington leaders have been taking them for a ride for many years.
The AARP leadership scoffed at that suggestion, but check out the video of a Dallas AARP meeting in this post by Moe Lane at Red State. The leadership wanted to give the members the usual dog-and-pony show in favor of government-run health care, but the members weren't buying it. So the leaders got up and left. Evidently, you either sit down, shut up and listen to your leaders in AARP, or they abandon you.
If it happened in Dallas, you can be certain that similar scenes are taking place at other AARP meetings all over the country.
